Tom took his mother on her first flight on a jet in 1982 to Vancouver British Columbia Canada to visit relatives and in 1987 he took his sister - Rosie and a friend to Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein) and of course he was the guy who had to go fast on the autobahn. During a time when many were being drafted, Tom felt that it was his duty to serve his country and volunteered for service in the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam and Germany (where he first learned to downhill ski).
